What is Clean Heating and Cooling and Energy Efficiency?
Through our partnership with HeatSmart FLX South, residents can get up to $15,000 of funding for eligible home weatherization and energy efficiency projects including insulation, air-sealing, and electric reduction measures. Other possible incentives are available for air or ground-source heat pumps and heat pump water heaters regardless of income eligibility. What are the Benefits? 1) Free home energy audits 2) Significantly lower energy bills 3) More comfortable homes 4) Up to $15,000 in financial support for home weatherization and eligible energy efficiency projects. CAMPAIGN COMPLETE
The Village of Montour Falls has completed the Community Solar Campaign. For the completion of this campaign we have recieved a $5,000. We also recieved 200 Clean Energy Communtiy points which helped us surpass the 4,000 point mark and allowed us to be eligbile for an adition $30,000 in grant funding. All of this funding will be put towards purchasing an electric vehicle for the Village's Department of Public Works. What is Communtiy Solar? Community Solar is when you sign up (fee-free) to support the development of solar farms without physically having solar panels on the roof of your property. What are the Benefits? Thanks to state funding, when you sign up for community solar, you get a guaranteed discount of 5-10% off of your energy bills. |

What is Demand Response?
Demand response is when a thermostat is set to automatically briefly change by a couple of degrees during time periods when community electricity use is the highest (and this change can always be overridden manually) which leads to significant savings on energy bills. This also helps reduce stress on our communities' energy grid. What are the Benefits? 1) When you enroll, you will receive a $45 Amazon Gift Card! 2) If you participate in temperature adjustments for one season (May 1st - September 30th), you will receive a $20 bill credit! What are the Requirements? You must have central air conditioning and an internet connected thermostat. How do I get involved? Go to THIS website and sign up! |
What is the Electric Vehicle Campaign?
We are encouraging residents to purchase electric or hybrid vehicles. These vehicles put out less emmissions which is healthier and better for the environment. Electric vehicles also help decrease money spent on gas. What are the Benefits? Purchasing an electric or hybrid vehicle in New York State at THESE eligible dealerships qualifies residents for a rebate of up to $2,000 and a federal income tax credit of up to $7,500! How do I get involved? Go to one of the participating dealerships to talk about your options. Be sure to let us know that you participated by emailing clerk@villageofmontourfalls.com so that we can get grants to improve our community! |

Montour Market - This grocery store was developed to become a hub for fresh, helathy, local produce and products (SNAP Benefits Accepted). |
